Student Work
Many students are perplexed because we have them do some school work while on the trip. The reason why we have students do school work on this trip is to enhance their learning opportunity along with their memories of this awesome trip. The school work will not inhibit their trip, it will add to it. Many students are not happy with the work, but they always come back with huge smiles thanking us for having them do it. It is like looking at a yearbook. It takes you back to the time and place of this great adventure. Let's not call it work. How about "Making Memories!" |

Post CardsStudents are required to send a minimum of two postcards. They may send it to a family member, teacher, and/or friend.
Why send postcards? When someone sends a card, it means they’ve taken the time to think of you while they’re away, to go to the local souvenir store and pick out just the right card, hand write a personalized message about their trip, buy a stamp, and drop it in the mail. Unlike an e-mail or picture message sent via cellphone that can be easily deleted, filed away or forgotten, a postcard is a keepsake you can tack onto the bulletin board in your cubicle or hold up with a magnet on your fridge, and it will bring a smile to your face every time you see it. The picture on the front of a card tells a story, and we have the entire back to tell our own. It is fun to describe sites we're visiting, like the White House or Times Square in New York. It is also pleasurable to send postcards because we know first-hand how great it is to receive something in the mail that’s not a cable bill, or grocery store flyer. We should feel some sort of excitement when going to the mailbox, not always the dread of a credit card statement. http://tinyurl.com/z9hwvkm |
